From Pind Mera

This village is situated 31 Kilometers North of Kapurthala City. Begowal has a big Grain Market. It also has many Educational Institutions. The One fair which people enjoy very much is celebrated on the Barsi of Sant Baba Prem Singh Jee at Dera Sant Baba Prem Singh Jee. The mela is celebrated on 2nd & 3rd June every year, But this mela starts from 20th May and goes upto 3rd, June. From Begowal near about 2km away, There is Gurudwara Nanaksar Sahib situated in Village JABOWAL.

Notable People

Sikh freedom fighter Bhai Amarjeet Singh Billa was born on November 6th 1967 at Begowal. Bhai Sahib was initially a member of the All India Sikh Student Federation, from which he went on to join the Khalistan Liberation Force. Bhai Sahib’s two brothers currently residing in the USA, annually hold an Akhand Path in the memory of Bhai Amarjeet Singh in Begowal.
